The Modern Hypnotist

The Modern Hypnotist is a project to bring hypnosis into the 21st century.

The unfortunate truth is that most of the theory and practices of the hypnosis community is still trapped in the 1950s and has been mired by stereotype and outdated ritual.

It’s regrettable for the public to be ignorant; it is a crime for the practitioners to be untrained. The fact is that some of us are still using antiquated ideas.

While some great advances in the practice of hypnosis (and persuasion in general) have been made in the past 20 years, primarily due to a greater community interaction, there still doesn’t seem to be a resource directory of information.

I hope that themodernhypnotist.com can at least come close to being a useful resource.

That being said, I welcome ANY and ALL submissions that will further the re-education of anyone interested hypnosis, persuasion and influence. You can submit reviews of the basic schools of thought and its trainers, new research articles and ideas. You may even ask questions and oppose anything posted here. I will credit everyone (if you wish to be credited).

I trust that, through the years, you’ll find this site quite useful. At its worst, it’ll end up being a good reference for me. At its best, it’ll generate some new ideas and directions that the hypnosis community desparately needs.
